💌 A Love Note to the Perfectionist, the Former Athlete, + the Woman who thinks it doesn’t count unless she’s crawling away:

You Know It’s Not ‘All or Nothing’— So Why Are You Still Acting Like It?

YES, YOU.

You know it’s not supposed to be all or nothing.
You’ve read the posts. You’ve nodded along when people talk about balance.
You’ve probably even said it to a friend—“progress over perfection!!”

And yet…

even when we intellectually know it’s not “all or nothing,” old programming runs so strong. Especially for perfectionists and former athletes whose identities were built around performance, pressure, and pain = gain.

If your schedule isn’t wide open, your house isn’t clean, you’re not in the mood to go all in—

you do nothing.

You wait for the perfect window. The perfect plan. The perfect version of you that’s highly motivated and fully energized and ready to commit flawlessly.

I get it.

Especially if you’re an athlete, high achiever, or someone who’s used to being praised for pushing through. You were taught that anything less than intense, full-out effort doesn’t count.
That training is supposed to hurt. That it’s not a “real” workout unless you're sore for days.
That rest is earned. That anything short of perfection isn’t worth doing at all.

But here’s the truth…

🚨Perfectionism is what’s keeping you stuck🚨

Not inconsistency. Not laziness. Not lack of motivation.

(If you don’t think you’re a perfectionist but you consider yourself a procrastinator, I’ve got news….you’re a perfectionist. It’s why you procrastinate…)

That “go big or go home” mindset sounds empowering

...until it keeps you from showing up at all.

If you’ve been living in extremes, no wonder you’re exhausted.

And let me ask you something - honestly:
Is it working for you now?

How long has it been since this HAS worked for you?

Life looks different today, doesn’t it?

You have more on your plate. Movement isn’t embedded into your life. You don’t have a team or a coach. You’re not gifted a ton of free time. Maybe you’re raising a whole kid or three. Maybe you’re a devoted dog mom or you work insane hours.

Deep down, you know it’s time to shift.

Not because you’re giving up.
But because you’re getting wise.

You’re not lazy or broken or incapable—you’re stuck using old programming

(okay & maybe you’re a little scared).

Scared that doing less means becoming less.
Scared that you specifically are not capable of getting results if you show up without pushing past your limits constantly.

The truth is:

✅ What you need is consistency, in bite-sized chunks.
✅ What you need is a plan that works on your most chaotic days—not just your best ones.
✅ What you need is to practice showing up imperfectly—and letting that be enough.

Here’s what real commitment looks like:

  • You move your body even when the stars don’t align.

  • You trade the “perfect plan” for one you can actually follow (hint: it can be structured, but it cannot be rigid).

  • You redefine strength—not as intensity, but as follow-through.

  • You stop starting over because you never really stopped.

There’s nothing wrong with training hard.
But if hard is the only way you know how to train…
If soreness is the only way you know how to measure progress…
If “perfect” is your only definition of commitment…

Then maybe it’s time to write a new story.

And look at the new research because, for women 30+, it’s been proven we need LESS sustained intensity (this means NOT the insane workouts).

If you’re ready to live that out— not just know it intellectually in a faraway land inside the depths of your mind, but practice it—I’m here to help you do exactly that.
This is the work I do with women every single day.
No shame. No extremes. Just strength built from self-respect and sustainability.
